We will provide a safe and positive playing environment for interested beginners and experienced youth hockey players to the Kinnelon, Butler, and Bloomingdale Community. We will promote the game of ice hockey through teamwork, sportsmanship, and playing the game the right way.
It's never too late or too early to start playing ice hockey. Two common concerns with youth hockey are safety and cost. Creating a safe and fun environment is core to ice hockey. USA hockey bans body checking until the age of 13 and coaches are required to take SafeSport training. Don’t buy into the myth that only kids from wealthy families can excel in hockey. KYHA aims to provide families from all financial backgrounds the accessibility to ice hockey. PRO TIP- "Neither the skates nor the stick make the player, especially at younger ages" USA Hockey
Kinnelon High School's ice hockey team was a powerhouse program culminating in a 2008 state title and 2013 Mennen Cup. Today, our high school program is joined with both Sparta and Jefferson to keep high school ice hockey programs alive. In 2023, the Kinnelon, Jefferson, and Sparta (KJS) varsity ice hockey team won their division in the Morris County Secondary Schools Ice Hockey league! As a proud ice hockey community, we will continue to support our team and continue the tradition.
I am a novice hockey dad with a son that loves the game of hockey. Originally from California, I didn't grow up with the game of hockey, but have played multiple sports my whole life. I moved to the Kinnelon community in 2015 and couldn't be more grateful for kindness and spirit around Kinnelon Ice Hockey.

I would like to see every child have the opportunity to succeed to their full potential.
I am an avid snowboarder, hiker and hockey fan. A high school co-ed state championship cheerleader, gymnast, as well as a first place division winner in concert band. I also enjoyed playing baseball/softball throughout my youth, was a 4-H member, and an art honor society member. I look forward to the opportunity to make a difference in any child's life.
